I have failed, you have failed and yes, everyone has failed at least once in their lifetime. Usually, failure is defined as a negative word by dictionaries. Even the feelings and expressions of the failed ones seem painful. However, failure becomes the best experience when you start cherishing it.
Scientifically, it is has been proved that the effect of any hurtful experience lasts in the human brain just for about 10 minutes. The months long or even years long misery is just the result of over-thinking by the person. Human brain is a good amplifier. Pleasure or pain input into the human brain can output in an enormous form depending upon the amplification power of that person. For some, even the slightest problem might seem like a huge rock in the front. Let us take an example of a break up scenario. Suppose a girl decides to break up with a guy. It plays havoc on the guy. He finds the world like a vacuum. Bright daylight might seem cold and dark. He might even question on his life asking, “What is the point in living without the girl I loved so much?” and might direct himself to a suicidal tendency. Here, we can see that the problem of the guy is very trivial. He just had had a break up with his girlfriend. But, the feeling of failure pushed him into a situation where he has no affection for his life. Had he opted for some other means to deal with the failure instead of over-thinking, he could have cherished the experience. Amplification doesn’t only happen after failure. Most of such incidents occur even for achievements. Some people are good at exaggerating their accomplishments even though it is not worthy. They have a very high regard of themselves and tend to boast in every possible manner. Such amplification can be even disastrous compared to the former one. Having low self-confidence is far better than false-belief.
I remember my college days when there used to be party when someone scored very good in semester exam. The party would be even wilder if someone failed the exam. The idea was to make him free of the worry; to teach him that the failure can be cherished. The pain would vanish into pleasure. Such things can be the best medicine for the persons who think they have failed. The reason is that failure is not a crime. Scientists fail in hundreds and thousands of experiments before they can come up with a theory; Birds fail to fly several times before they can reach to the top of the mountains; Child fails to stand for many times before being able to walk and so on. A failure is a move that takes you one step closer to the destination.
I do not mean to say that if one continues to fail for a long time, he will reach the destination. I want to say that the lessons learnt from the failure can be your weapon if wisely perceived. A failure should be used as a pedestal to climb up. There is a saying, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts.” As such, being a failure and partying only doesn’t make a sense at all. And also, getting one success and sitting hand-folded doesn’t justify success. A success should be regarded as a fuel to the future journey of endeavors and a failure should be regarded as a new idea about what should be avoided.
At last, one should make failure the lesson of life, but not the process of life.
